From Then to Now: The Evolution of antiretroviral Policy and Access

Giten is currently the Community and Policy Program Manager at amfAR’s TREAT Asia program in Bangkok, Thailand. He is a member of the World Health Organization’s Global Guidelines Development Group on hepatitis B and hepatitis C, the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office, and a member of the Policy Advisory Committee of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative.

He also served as an Expert Advisory Group member with the Medicines Patent Pool and participated in various technical groups on viral hepatitis globally and also in the WHO WPRO and SEARO regions. He has been working on improving access to HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C diagnosis and treatment globally, with a focus on South and South-East Asia. He was also profiled as a Change Maker for hepatitis C by the Economist Intelligence Unit in 2017.
