National Stigma and Discrimination Review and Planning Tool

Many countries are recognizing the importance of reducing HIV-related stigma and discrimination to make progress on ending AIDS as a threat to public health and individual well-being. Community leaders, supported with technical and financial assistance from global partners, have gathered evidence and pushed their governments to make policy changes and roll out effective programmes.

However, countries need to accelerate progress on reducing HIV-related stigma and discrimination if they are to meet their treatment and prevention targets. The new National Stigma and Discrimination Review and Planning Tool is designed to support countries by facilitating a conversation among national stakeholders to review what interventions work and prioritize where to invest to improve the quality and impact of programmes.
